This course aims to provide a basic introduction to Adobe Photoshop
People at all levels will enjoy and benefit from the opportunity to develop their creative use of digital processes to achieve the best results from their photos. No prior editing knowledge is necessary as we use Adobe Photoshop CS5 from basic level progressing through a number of techniques to improve a varied selection of images.
Students will work through a variety of exercises, such as selectively colouring parts of the photographs, combining elements from multiple images together and using layers to add texture. We will also retouch portraits and discuss the ethics around this.
By the end of the course students will have an understanding of various tools and their functions and will have gained confidence in editing their own images.
Students should have previous computer experience.
Any extra cost incurred during course: You will need to be capable of printing your images either at home or using a store printing service.
Equipment to be provided by student: For this course computers are provided and will be used in all the sessions. Students are asked not to bring their own computers on this course.
