Daytime Art and Craft – Paula Mcloughlin
This is an opportunity to learn different media and find out what suits you. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of art and craft media and produce finished pieces of work.
During the course you will learn by demonstrations, group discussion, pair work and individual practice. You will gain an introduction to a variety of media: patchwork, pencil, charcoal, chalk pastels. Projects will be introduced by the tutor and then tailored to suit individuals.
As well as experiencing a variety of media, you will learn some fundamentals of drawing and painting, such as: line, tone, proportion, composition and basic colour theory. There will also be the opportunity to look at the work of other artists for inspiration and ideas.
By the end of the course you will have gained more confidence in selecting and developing media and ideas. This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
Any extra cost incurred during course: Most material will be provided for the course but there may be occasions when the tutor will request attendees to bring in materials to support their learning
Equipment to be provided by student:Please bring plenty of source material eg. Photographs, postcards, magazine cuttings and other visual imagery which is of interest and may be incorporated into your work.
Many art students also like to have a sketch book but this is an individual choice.
