Pilates Intermediate – Tutor: Sarah Moore
This Pilates course is for students with one year or more experience.
Pilates exercise all the muscle groups in the body, emphasising use of the deep abdominal muscles. It will provide stability by strengthening the core, the transverse abdominal muscle and pelvic floor, which, in turn will help give strength to the back. It will improve flexibility and suppleness and improves posture and breathing in general. It will also reduce stress.
Although Pilates will not improve cardio-vascular strength, it is a great complementary fitness technique for those who participate in other active sports. Likewise, it is a good for people who find it hard to relax and just want gentle exercise.
The aim of the course is to provide a good body awareness and better alignment, allowing greater joint mobility and toned muscles. By the end of the course students should have improved flexibility, strength and tone to upper and lower body, a flatter stomach through correct muscle involvement, lowered stress levels and fewer incidents of back problems.
Any extra cost incurred during course: All costs included.
Equipment to be provided by student: Mat, a bottle of water or juice.
